Who singing lessons are for

Singing lessons for every stage of the journey.

Whether the student is completely new to singing, returning after a break, preparing for performances or simply looking to develop confidence, lessons are shaped around their voice, goals and experience.

Children

Develop confidence, listening, musical awareness and healthy vocal habits from the beginning.

Teenagers

Build technique, performance confidence and musical identity while supporting the developing voice.

Adults

Learn for enjoyment, personal fulfilment, performance, auditions or longer-term musical development.

Returning singers

Reconnect with singing after time away, rebuild confidence and return with clearer structure.

What students typically develop

Singing lessons should build the whole musician, not just the voice.

Strong singing tuition develops healthy technique, confidence, musicianship and performance skills together, so students learn how to use their voice with more control, expression and understanding.

Technique

Healthy vocal foundations

Students work on breath support, posture, pitch, resonance, articulation and efficient vocal production at a pace that suits their age and experience.

Confidence

Trust in the voice

Lessons help students become more comfortable singing in front of others, trying new repertoire and using their voice with less fear or self-consciousness.

Musicianship

Listening, rhythm and pitch

Singing students develop aural awareness, rhythm, pitch control, interpretation and musical understanding rather than learning songs in isolation.

Performance

Preparation and expression

Where appropriate, students can work towards concerts, auditions, graded exams, school performances or personal performance goals.

How singing lessons work

A clear route from enquiry to ongoing tuition.

Singing lessons are designed to be straightforward, supportive and consistent, giving students the best opportunity to build confidence and progress over time.

Step 1

Request a trial

Send the student’s age, experience, goals and availability so the school can review the most suitable starting point.

Step 2

Tutor matching

We consider voice type, confidence, age, musical interests, lesson length and timetable before confirming a route.

Step 3

Begin with a paid lesson

The trial is a proper one-to-one singing lesson, helping establish confidence, level and next steps.

Step 4

Continue in blocks

Where suitable, ongoing lessons continue through structured 10-lesson blocks, normally managed as Part A and Part B.

Ongoing singing tuition is arranged around a fixed weekly lesson where suitable. Planned absences should be submitted to the school in advance under the current GSofM lesson structure and attendance policy.
