About Hazel

A creative and supportive approach to music education

Hazel brings together classical training, creative curiosity and a strong commitment to inclusive music-making.

Hazel Sharp is a genre-explorative multi-instrumentalist and educator, currently studying classical saxophone at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Classically trained and creatively curious, Hazel sees music as a way to connect — to people, places and ourselves — and brings that spirit into both her performing and teaching.

As a tutor, Hazel creates a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to discover and develop their own musical voice. Her trauma-informed, body-aware approach helps students build confidence, musicianship and a healthy relationship with their instrument, while working towards excellence in a way that feels personal, creative and sustainable.

Hazel performs extensively as a soloist and chamber musician on saxophone, piano and traditional whistle, including with Stillpoint, an all-female ensemble performing original works and imaginative arrangements.

Hazel supports students in developing tone, technique, reading, expression and confidence while keeping music personal and meaningful.

Inclusive musical development

Her teaching values confidence, communication and a healthy relationship with the instrument, giving students a supportive route into progress.
