This form starts the process. It does not confirm the rental.

GSofM first checks availability and suitability. Approved rentals are for a fixed 3-month term with no automatic renewal. Payment, deposit, formal agreement and collection are handled only after an instrument has been approved.

Instrument Rental Enquiry

Please provide as much information as possible so we can assess the request accurately and avoid unnecessary back-and-forth.

    Before submitting your rental enquiry

This form is for instrument rental enquiries at The Glasgow School of Music. Submitting this form does not automatically confirm rental availability, reserve an instrument, create a rental agreement, or create a payment obligation.

If a suitable instrument from the current GSofM rental stock is available, GSofM will email you with the approved instrument details, fixed 3-month rental term, rental rate, refundable deposit, payment instructions, agreement process, and collection arrangements.

Please do not send payment until The Glasgow School of Music has confirmed availability and issued the approved rental details and payment instructions.

The rental agreement must be entered into by a person aged 18 or over. If the instrument will be used by a child or young person, please provide the name of the parent, guardian or other responsible adult who would be the renter.

    Fixed 3-month rental term

If your enquiry is approved, the rental agreement will be for a fixed period of 3 months and will not renew automatically.

If a further rental period is needed after those 3 months, GSofM must review the instrument and rental circumstances first. Any further rental requires a new rental offer and a new agreement.

A full address is not required at enquiry stage. For an approved non-student rental, proof of address may be requested before collection.

The more accurate the enquiry, the faster we can assess it.

Useful information helps GSofM confirm whether the right instrument is available and which rental rate applies.
