Academy Publications
Complimentary guides, practice tools and structured learning resources.
A curated catalogue of current and planned GSofM Academy publications from The Glasgow School of Music. The live collection brings together the Academy’s existing printable guides, planners and journals, while future titles are shown separately as a publication roadmap.
At a glance
A professional publication series for music learning.
Academy Publications are designed as useful, printable resources rather than disposable downloads. Each guide has a clear purpose, a consistent format and a defined place within the wider GSofM Academy.
Publication Standard
Every resource follows a consistent editorial system.
Each Academy publication is designed to solve one clearly defined problem. Some help families prepare for lessons; others support practice, exams, confidence, instrument choice or long-term musical development.
The format is intentionally consistent: publication code, clear title, edition year, short explanation, practical resource content and related Academy links.

How the catalogue works
Published resources are designed to work online and in print.
Where an expanded online guide exists, the printable publication works alongside it rather than replacing it. Current PDF resources remain public and printable; future publications will only become active in the catalogue when their public content is ready.
- Landing page
- Expanded online guidance is used where a topic benefits from a fuller explanation, such as the Complete Parent Guide or the full Practice Guide.
- Printable PDF
- A professionally branded GSofM Academy publication designed to be downloaded, printed and used by families or students.
- Internal links
- Published resources route readers back to the Academy, relevant parent guidance, lesson information and related educational guides.
- Structured data
- The catalogue and Resource Library use page-specific structured data only where it maps directly to visible published resources.
