Choose the right route
How can we help?
Choosing the right route helps us respond properly. New students should normally use the trial lesson request route; existing families and formal enquiries can contact the school directly.
Trial lesson enquiries
For new students ready to begin lessons. Use the trial lesson form rather than the general contact form so we can collect the student’s subject, level, goals and availability before reviewing tutor fit and next steps.
Current students & parents
For planned absences, lesson scheduling, My Music Staff, tutor communication, student support and general current-family administration.
Accounts, admin & safeguarding
For invoices, payments, balances, account administration, safeguarding, welfare, PVG, formal concerns or matters that should be handled by the school.
Tutor and recruitment enquiries
For musicians and educators interested in teaching with GSofM. Use the tutor application route rather than the general lesson enquiry process.
New student enquiries
Ready to start lessons? Use the trial lesson route.
The general contact form is best for existing students, administration, safeguarding, visits and formal school queries. New students should normally use the dedicated trial lesson request form so GSofM can review the student’s subject, level, goals, availability and tutor fit before confirming the next step.
Location and visits
Lessons and visits are by appointment only.
The school operates around scheduled teaching rooms, tutor availability and student safety. Please arrange a lesson, visit or meeting before attending the building.

Contact FAQs
Common questions before getting in touch
A short guide to the best contact route for new students, existing families, safeguarding queries and visits.
What is the best first step for new students?
Request a trial lesson so we can review the student’s instrument or subject, current level, goals and availability before confirming the most suitable route.
Should existing students contact their tutor or the school?
Teaching questions can usually go to the tutor, but absences, scheduling, payments, account queries and administration should be sent to the school directly.
How should safeguarding or welfare concerns be raised?
Safeguarding, welfare and formal concerns should be sent directly to the school so they can be handled appropriately and not lost within informal tutor communication.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
Yes. Lessons and visits are arranged in advance so we can manage teaching schedules, room availability and student safety properly.
Where can I read the lesson policies?
The Terms & Conditions explain the formal policy position for lesson blocks, payments, planned absences, cancellations and other school expectations.
Where should tutor applications go?
Musicians interested in teaching should use the Apply to Teach at GSofM page rather than the general lesson enquiry route.
