Brianna Berman is a classically trained violinist with a love of teaching and traditional music. She has performed both as a soloist and ensemble player in the USA and UK and is currently a member of Nevis Ensemble. In 2016 she moved from New York to Glasgow to begin studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Angus Ramsay (Principal 2nd Violin – Scottish Opera). Brianna would go on to graduate with a Bachelor with Honours in Performance in 2020.
Brianna’s love of teaching began as a 13-year-old when she volunteered as a youth orchestra assistant in her local orchestra school. She would stay in that role for the next five years and loved getting to watch the students she met with on a weekly basis grow as musicians and people over the years. Since then, Brianna has received her ABRSM Level 4 Diploma in Violin Teaching (with distinction) and has taken part in a variety of courses and training opportunities to expand her skills as an educator. Brianna believes that music education is best used as a vehicle for self-expression. As a one-to-one teacher, she hopes to instil not only a love of music in her students but also feelings of self-confidence and pride.
